Chemutai Yegon

Chemutai is a Kenyan living in Poland. She is a community building professional and an educator with 11+ years of experience, mostly in the Republic of Georgia (2012-2015) and in Poland (2015-present), with a focus on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in education.
Chemutai co-founded and is current Executive Director of the Association of Multiethnic Families Family Voices, a founding organization of the BJP. During her time in Georgia, Chemutai was part of the One Caucasus initiative, an ongoing music festival and peace-building initiative run by the Poland-based Another Space Foundation in partnership with organizations throughout the Caucuses.
Within the BJP, Chemutai is a member of the BJP Advisory Board and the Direct Support Team. She also supports community-building activities and BJP’s educational programming.
Chemutai has a BA in Education from Kenyatta University in Kenya. She also earned the Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) and the Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE) Certificate in Teaching English in Pre-Primary Education.
Margaret Amaka Ohia-Nowak

Margaret was born in Poland and raised in both Poland and Nigeria. Her work lies at the intersection of academia, civic education and racial justice activism. She is an advocate for Black, African and Afro-descendant communities in the Central and Eastern European region and has been involved in numerous initiatives and projects to promote equity, decolonial practices, non-discrimination, and organize spaces for radical community care. Her academic work focuses on anti-Black racist discourses, and media representations of Black Africans in Poland.
Margaret is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Communication and Media Studies at the Marie Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin. She is also a lecturer in Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Łódź. She is the founder and executive director of the Centre for Intersectional Justice in Poland. She is a faculty member at the Black Europe Summer School, a board member of the Black Europe Foundation and the Journal for Right-Wing Studies. She is a local connector for Central Europe at the Multitudes Foundation. She is part of the Democracy & Belonging Forum community of practice on racialised othering and radical belonging in Europe. She authored and co-authored several publications on race, language and discourse in Poland, and has been featured on several podcasts, including Being a Black Woman in Poland and Race and Representation. She is the Polish translator of Change Sings by Amanda Gorman.
Within the BJP, Margaret is a member of the BJP Advisory Board and a member of the BJP Scholarship Review Committee. She co-founded the School of Anti-Racist Practices.
Margaret received her PhD from the University of Wrocław, Poland. She was a Fulbright Scholar and a National Science Centre Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. She was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Amsterdam and at City University London. She is a recipient of the Susan Treadwell Memory Award.
Katarzyna (Kasia) Kubin

Kasia is an academic and activist with nearly two decades of experience designing and managing initiatives and projects that advance social justice and human rights with a focus on racial justice, migrant and refugee rights, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Her academic work focuses on colonial histories and discourses in the region imagined as Central and Eastern Europe. She has (co-)authored, edited and translated work on related topics.
Kasia is a researcher at the University of Warsaw, Centre of Migration Research (Ośrodek Badań nad Migracjami-OBM). She co-founded the Foundation for Social Diversity (Fundacja na rzecz Różnorodności Społecznej-FRS) in 2007, for which she was distinguished with the Polcul Foundation Award in 2017. She co-created the short documentary film series, Migrant Narratives (Narracje Migrantów), which serves as an educational tool for trainers, teachers and educators. Her work on racism and equality was recognized by the Government Plenipotentiary for Equality within the Media and Equality Program (Media Równych Szans, 2012). Kasia advises and mentors other NGO’s on fundraising, management, and growth strategy and development, most recently within the Humanity in Action Kickstarter Program.
Within the BJP, Kasia is a member of the Advisory Board and leads fundraising efforts. She also coordinates the BJP Scholarship and Educational Support Program and supports the work of the Direct Support Team.
Kasia received her PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) – University of London.
Dajana Samuels

Dajana is a versatile creative professional with a passion for technology, music, design, and activism. Her diverse interests and her commitment to her work reflect her dedication to making a positive impact through her creative endeavors.
With over seven years of experience in the field of marketing, Dajana has honed her skills as a social media specialist, graphic designer, and video maker. Dajana is also an accomplished DJ and music producer, actively organizing events across Poland.
Within the BJP, Dajana leverages her expertise in marketing and content creation to lead the Social Media and Communications Team.
Dajana holds a BA degree in Graphics and an MA in Media creation from the Szkoła Wyższa Psychologii Społecznej in Warsaw.
Oghele (Ogi) Ugonoh

Arlo Wat

Arlo is a non-binary activist and artist of Polish and Senegalese background, who is committed to combating racism and discrimination. They have experience in online marketing, social media and communications management, as well as events organization, with a focus on equality and antiracism topics in Poland. Arlo is also a model and has participated in public campaigns to fight discrimination against queer individuals and other social minorities.
Within the BJP, Arlo is part of the Social Media and Communications Team.
Beyond their professional and activist roles, Arlo leads Afro dance classes and dedicates their free time to nurturing their senses through drawing, playing musical instruments, and writing poetry.
Arlo’s educational background is in tourism and events organization.
Agnieszka Lange

Agnieszka is a social worker, educator and activist. She has collaborated with organizations that focus on the well-being of children and teenagers, cultural exchange of youth and alternative education. She has coordinated and led workshops and projects for kids, teenagers, and young adults (e.g. on diversity, art, self-development, and communication skills). She is passionate about sailing, visual arts and psychology.
Within the BJP, Agnieszka is a member of the Direct Support Team where she focuses on training initiatives, coordinates legal aid, and helps develop the BJP community-building activities. She also coordinates the BJP volunteer program.
Agnieszka completed a degree in cultural studies (University of Adam Mickiewicz) and the social arts (the University of Warsaw) and curatorial practice (the University of Bologna). Additionally, she completed the first certificate in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.

Agnieszka Bułacik

Agnieszka is a space-holder, anti-discrimination trainer, activist, and artist. All of Agnieszka’s work is based on a holistic approach and lies at the intersection of art, activism and education.
Agnieszka is co-founder of new visions, an art and education collective that is rooted in queer-feminist and decolonial perspectives, and one of the founding organisations of the BJP. Within the BJP, Agnieszka takes care of educational work.
Agnieszka is currently a PhD candidate in Art and Education at the University of Barcelona.
Anna Górska

Anna is a project manager with over fifteen years of experience in promoting social diversity, equal treatment, and social justice. Since 2012, she has worked at the Foundation for Social Diversity (FSD), where she manages projects focused on equal access to education for children and youth with migrant backgrounds. She has also been involved in action research on education and the integration of migrants in Poland across various organizations. Anna has participated in and facilitated coalitions and platforms for systemic and institutional change in the education of children and youth with migrant backgrounds, as well as improving the integration of refugees and migrants at local and national levels, co-coordinating initiatives such as the nation-wide Coalition to Strengthen the Role of Cross-Cultural and Roma Assistants in Polish schools.
Within the BJP, Anna is involved in financial and administrative management in cases when the FSD manages funds on behalf of the BJP.
Anna graduated from the University of Warsaw with an MA in contemporary anthropology from the Institute of Applied Social Sciences and a BA in African studies.
Róż Różyński

Róż is a queer-feminist curator, facilitator, designer, and producer. Róż nurtures creative processes that are focused on changing social attitudes and countering exclusion. They co-create holistic and transformative spaces that invite participants to connect with their inner power and enact more sustainable ways of being.
Róż co-founded the Open Institute, an academy for artists and activists from diverse cultural backgrounds in Poland, and co-created the School of Antiracist Practices, which was developed by new visions under the BJP umbrella.
Currently, Róż is the external comms lead at the Ulex Project.
For over 15 years, Róż has been involved in social protests and initiatives, including: the “Black Protests” for women’s rights in Poland, anti-capitalist protests, as well as initiatives in defence of LGBTQ+ people and people on the move, Queer Fest as well as ecological justice actions in defence of the Białowieża Forest in Poland.
