BJP was originally formed as a coalition of both registered NGOs and informal groups working to support Black, African and Afro-descendant communities in Poland.
From the outset, Black-led organizations played a leadership role in the coalition — including nominating members to the Advisory Board — while non-Black-led organizations supported the coalition in a consultative and solidarity-based role. Together, coalition members shared responsibility for fund management and formal obligations and worked collaboratively to build the foundations of what is now Black Justice Poland Foundation.
Today, this coalition-based model continues in a new form through the Council of Allied Organizations, a consultative body described in the Foundation’s Statute. The Council brings together organizations that share our commitment to Black justice, and supports the Foundation through dialogue, solidarity, and collaboration.
